  • Over 100 Real Ales featuring Cask Ales from within a 30 mile radius of our venue, The Winding Wheel, as well as the best beers that Fullers has to offer.

  • ...and not forgetting the free soft drinks provided by Lefley Coach Hire - for details contact Ian or Jane on 01246 567074

  • What if you get a little peckish? If you came to our festival last year, you will be pleased to hear that food will be served at all sessions by the charismatic Jeff Gaunt from Gaunt's Butchers of Eckington. We also plan to have some snacks for you to purchase, including nuts and crisps.

How do I get to Chesterfield?

  •  By Bus
National Express buses stop at the New Beetwell Street bus station, which is only a 10 minute walk from our venue. For more info, see the National Express website.

  • By Train
Our venue is only 5 minutes walk from Chesterfield Station, which is on the main London St. Pancras to Sheffield Line with connections from Sheffield, Derby, Birmingham, Leicester, Leeds, Manchester and many other major stations.

  • By Car
Chesterfield is situated about 13 miles south of Sheffield and 25 miles north of Derby. It can easily be accessed via the M1. From the North, exit off Junction 30, from the South, exit off Junction 29. For more information, why not use the AA Route Planner. Car Parking is available close to our venue - see the Chesterfield Mini-Guide for more details.

  Once inside - what happens?

  • OK - you've got your ticket and you're queuing up at the door - hand your ticket over to one of the volunteers on the door, and it will be exchanged for a commemorative half pint glass, with our striking beer festival logo on and a copy of our Festival Programme with details of all the beers, ciders and country wines that you can sample at the festival.

How do you find the beers that you are looking for?

  • The beer barrels will be numbered to correspond with the list of beers in the programme (and the same list will appear on this site before the event, so you will be able to peruse it at your leisure), which will make it a lot easier to find that elusive beer that you have always wanted to try. We will also be using our colour coded barrel ends again this year, so that you can easily find the "style" of beer that you like...

The colour coded categories will be:

  • Milds

  • Stouts and Porters

  • Strong Ales (5%+)

  • Beers to handle with care (6%+)

  • Pale Beers

  • Bitters

Where else can I get some real ale in Chesterfield?

  • Other than the festival, where else can you find real ale in Chesterfield?
Check out our Mini-Guides for Chesterfield and Brampton for the pubs to target during your stay in Chesterfield. There are quite a few, so perhaps you ought to stay for a long week-end...
